Warning!!! Do not Drink This Beer Until you read this!
Omission Beer Claims that they are a Gluten Free Beer and that their process to rid traditional traditional beer ingredients has been successful. The greatest "Faux Pas" is that Omission has been recognized by an independent Gluten Free organization stating that they are left with only residual fragments of gluten after their brew process. This is WRONG! The body never lies and after drinking the beer after reading the box label stating that this is a gluten free option, I have found these claims to be false. I believe that they should retract their claims and discontinue their labeling promoting these claims!
This has been taken right from their Freq Asked Question section explaining their process.
"Omission beers are brewed just like other great craft beers, with malted barley, hops, water, and yeast. Once the beers are ready for the fermentation tanks, we add a brewing enzyme called Brewers Clarex™ which breaks apart and detoxifies the gluten protein chains. The beers are then packaged in a closed environment to eliminate any cross contamination risk."
There is no known or proven way to rid gluten in it, except not to use it in the first place. This reminds me of the people who believe that if they fry gluten contaminated foods at an extreme temperature they will remove the allergens. In Correct.
After drinking 2 Omission Pale Ales at a local bar I started to experience a severe reaction to the ingredients. Thinking initially that this beer was gluten free I thought that my reactions of having extreme chest pressure and heart palpitations followed by bloating and intestinal pains were the result of something that I might have eaten earlier in the day. After going to Omission's website as well as Googling other cases similar to time, I have realized that the Omission beer is the culprit. After a long night in trying to get the gluten out of my body I wake up in pain and feeling awful. So if you are like me in the sense of not being able to tolerate gluten I urge you to -
NOT DRINK THIS BEER IF YOU ARE GLUTEN SENSITIVE OR HAVE CELIAC DISEASE!
Thank you and be well....

Thanks to you!
Hi this is the GF Gangsta looking to give a big shout out to all those gluten free wannabees! If it wasn't for you guys and girls we real celiac's wouldn't have as much food choices to consume. To be a real gluten free monster you have to just stay mostly away from processed foods, but this isn't really that fun. We want snacks, burgers, and pancakes just like the rest of you guys. So as a result, there are more choices today not only because of the Gluten Free people, but also because of the people who out there believe it to be a healthier lifestyle. So I say keep on eating and we will all reap the benefits by staying healthy, but with more choice!

A Note to all Restaurants!!!!
If you own or run a restaurant in today's world you should consider having Gluten Free bread on hand. This simple offering will open up not only your profits, but will also bring on a new gain in brand loyalty. I like many gluten allergists will be so happy when we sit down and ask the dreaded words, "Do you have any gluten free offerings?" If you were to say "Why yes we do -we have bread." We might just do a back flip if we have enough space. Having Gluten Free bread frees up the opportunity to have toast, burgers and sandwiches -the sky is the limit.
The greatest thing about having this bread is that most Gluten Free bread is kept frozen until served. So you will most likely never have to throw it away if you have a sudden dry spell in sales. Two major brands to consider are Udi's and Rudi's -no relation. All you will need to serve this bread is a seperate toaster standing by to defrost and toast the bread. There are many selections from dinner rolls, stand slices, to bagels!
So go ahead and make out day and stick a loaf in the freezer for us!

Subway -Gluten Free the Fresh Way!
For many years before I fully realized that I had a Gluten Allergy I would stop in a Subway Sandaurant on occasion to fill my hunger needs. When I realized I had the allergy I stayed away. Now Subway has found a away to create a Gluten Free sandwich to offer its hungry GF customers. Surprising but not unappreciated. Their new slogan should indicate this with an addition to "Eating Fresh" by adding "Eat Gluten Free!"
Please see below a allergy safe chart of all the items offered at Subway restaurants as well as a current promo offering this gluten free delight. It is important to support businesses that are offering choices for us, so that they continue to build on solutions for allergies. This will in the end help change eating out options for the future. What's up Panera? Thanks!

Dr. Lucy's Brownie Cakes
Anyone who has a challenge to find deserts and sweet treats to satisfy their gluten free (or dairy free) desires, need not look here. Having tasted Lucy's products in the past found that these brownie cakes have just missed the mark. I have found these cakes to be too hard and stale. There is no real flavor (not really chocolaty as they advertise) since your taste buds are confused by the stale texture the sweats. The first box I bought even had mold growing on a couple of the cakes. Which I contacted the Lucy company about. They quickly apologized, but explained to me that this could happen due to the delicate nature of the product being allergy free. This seemed like an odd response, but welcomed a new box sent from them. Upon opening the new box I experienced a similar taste and quality experience without the mold. So, it is my opinion that these cakes should be avoided. When you are being a charged a prime price to eat allergy and gluten free you should get what you pay for. There is no reason why eating allergy free foods has to taste awful -so don't buy unless they are great. This will help companies like this to continue to improve their products. After all being gluten free doesn't mean you have to settle on tasteless foods for high prices.
Below is their ad on the Lucy website -I included this so that you will be able to identify the brand. If you have had a better experience with this product or want to indulge your own curiosity please do. Let me know what you think - Thanks!
